Eneza Education (MPrep)

Eneza Education partners with schools in Kenya to track and assess students' knowledge using mobile phones. Students access educational quizzes and learning tools via SMS, which allows them to test and hone their knowledge, while facilitating the collection of data to better inform schools and parents about students' learning outcomes.

Eneza Education works with 400 partner schools. Students' overall scores increased by 5% in 2012.

How does your innovation work?

Eneza Education has conducted an internal impact study in 3 schools (2013), and compared the results with a control group of 100 children in 3 different areas.

What is your strategy for expanding use of your innovation?

Eneza is able to target the poor through its focus on using mobile phones, which are widely available, possessed by 95% of the Kenyan population in households of all income levels.
